Shaq Owes $1,000 to Man Who Tattooed Charles Barkley’s Kiss
David Brickley | January 2, 2012 | NBA
When producers of TNT’s “Inside the NBA” put up the famous picture of Charles Barkley kissing Referee Dick Bavetta at the 2007 All-Star Game, it prompted Shaq to make a request.
“Anybody out there who gets that tattoo, I’ll give you $1000 dollars. Tweet me back with the pictures.” Shaq said on Thursday night’s show.
Emmet Bentley, a bartender in Santa Barbara, CA, stepped up to the challenge and now Shaq owes him a grand.
Bentley answered a few questions on TheSportsGeeks.com. Including, the question everybody is asking. Are you Crazy?:
I have a couple of ridiculous tattoos already, and this seemed pretty harmless, especially with the possibility of getting a grand from Shaq, so I was immediately into it, no second thoughts. I Facebooked the link to my tattoo artist, and he was down, so we scheduled the appointment for 2pm Saturday, and the rest is history.
I think it’s really funny all the attention it’s getting, I’m stoked I was the first one to respond, I’m sure I won’t be the last.
Around 9 a.m. PST on Sunday morning Bentley tweeted, “Twitter famous! Happy new year everyone, just waiting to hear from @SHAQ”
Shaq has not yet responded to the tweet, and has mentioned nothing on his Twitter account. TNT may have told him to wait it out so they can reveal to the world the new tattoo on the next edition of “Inside the NBA”.
It also wasn’t made clear by “The Big Analytical” if the first to get a tattoo wins $1,000, or anybody that gets the tattoo wins $1,000.
You would hope the next person would clarify that before heading to their local tattoo parlor.
